Abusive Sexual Contact Charges Filed Against St. Francis Man
A St. Francis, South Dakota man has been hit with serious charges. Alfred Theodore Boneshirt, age 59, has been indicted on two counts of Abusive Sexual Contact.
United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced the indictment, which was handed down on June 12, 2013. The maximum penalty for conviction is any term of years up to life imprisonment, a $250,000 fine, or both; 5 years up to life of supervised release; and a mandatory $100 special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund. Restitution may also be ordered.
The charges are merely accusations, and Boneshirt is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. The investigation is being conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Troy R. Morley is prosecuting the case.
Boneshirt was released to third-party custodians pending trial. A trial date has not been set.
According to sources, the indictment was a result of a thorough investigation by the FBI. The case is now in the hands of the court, and a verdict will be determined by a jury.
The people of St. Francis are left wondering what led to these charges, and the community is seeking justice for any victims involved.
