Adam Williams, Child Pornography Possession, New York 2017

Adam Williams, 33, of Burt, NY, is headed to federal prison for five years after being convicted of possessing child pornography involving prepubescent minors, a crime exposed by a digital trail leading straight to his home.

On October 3, 2017, federal agents stormed Williams’ residence with a search warrant, uncovering a digital archive of depravity. Using peer-to-peer file-sharing networks, Williams had not only accessed but distributed illegal material, drawing the attention of the FBI’s cybercrime division.

Inside the home, investigators seized a laptop and an external hard drive. Forensic analysis revealed more than 11,000 images and 290 videos of child sexual abuse material—some depicting prepubescent minors and acts of violence, escalating the severity of the charges.

U.S. Attorney James P. Kennedy Jr. announced the 60-month sentence handed down by Senior U.S. District Judge William M. Skretny, emphasizing the federal crackdown on those who exploit children through digital platforms.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Aaron J. Mango, who detailed how Williams’ activities were flagged through network monitoring, leading to the execution of the search warrant and the collapse of his defense.

The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation under Special Agent-in-Charge Stephen Belongia. Williams now begins a decade-long stretch under federal supervision following his release, registering as a sex offender for life.
