Alexis Catalan, Methamphetamine Distribution, Nevada 2020

A 41-year-old Las Vegas woman has been sentenced to 84 months in prison for distributing methamphetamine in the city. Alexis Catalan was found guilty of selling a total of 391.9 grams of the controlled substance between January 30, 2020, and March 26, 2020.

According to court documents, Catalan also possessed 271.8 grams of methamphetamine. She pleaded guilty in August 2021 to one count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

U.S. District Judge James C. Mahan presided over the sentencing hearing, which took place on Friday. Catalan will serve four years of supervised release after completing her prison sentence.

Catalan is not the only defendant in this case. Her co-defendants, Justin Wright and Daniel Leath, each pleaded guilty to one count of felon in possession of a firearm. Wright was sentenced to 24 months in prison in September 2021, while Leath received a 30-month sentence in November 2021.

The case was investigated by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). Assistant U.S. Attorney Dan Cowhig prosecuted the case, with Acting U.S. Attorney Christopher Chiou and Special Agent in Charge Francisco Burrola announcing the sentencing.

The sentencing marks the end of a long and complex investigation into Catalan’s activities. The case serves as a reminder of the serious consequences of distributing controlled substances in the state of Nevada.
