Passport Fraud Rocks Pittsburgh
43-year-old Alexis Morgan Young, a/k/a Omar Core, has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh on charges of making false statements in a passport application and aggravated identity theft.
According to the indictment, Young used the identification of another person to apply for a United States passport in 2024. The case was investigated by the Diplomatic Security Service.
Assistant United States Attorney Gregory C. Melucci is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government. Young’s indictment includes two counts: making false statements in a passport application and aggravated identity theft.
The maximum sentence for count one is 10 years in prison, along with a fine of $250,000. Count two carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 24 months in prison, plus a fine of $250,000. The actual sentence imposed would be based on the seriousness of the offenses and Young’s prior criminal history, if any.
