Amire J. Logan, Gun Possession, North Dakota 2024

A Fargo man is facing serious charges after a federal grand jury indicted him on multiple counts of gun possession. Amire J. Logan, 32, was arraigned in federal court on October 15, 2024, after the United States District Court for the District of North Dakota unsealed an indictment.

The indictment revealed that a federal grand jury charged Logan with two counts of Possession of Firearms and Ammunition by a Convicted Felon, two counts of Possession of Firearms and Ammunition by a Drug User or Addict, and one count of Possession of a Firearm with an Obliterated Serial Number. The charges stem from two separate incidents in Fargo and West Fargo, with the first occurring on June 24, 2024, and the second on September 24, 2024.

The indictment is not evidence of guilt, and Logan is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt at trial. The case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence.

The investigation is being led by the Fargo Police Department, the West Fargo Police Department, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. Assistant United States Attorney Jacob T. Rodenbiker is prosecuting the case.

Logan’s charges carry serious penalties. Possession of firearms and ammunition by a convicted felon can result in up to 10 years in prison, while possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number can result in up to 10 years in prison as well.

This case highlights the importance of community-based programs aimed at preventing violence and reducing gun violence. By working together, law enforcement and the community can make our neighborhoods safer for everyone.
