Anchorage, Alaska – A 42-year-old man has been sentenced to a decade behind bars for possessing drugs with intent to distribute while on parole. Andrew Lee’s sentence also includes five years of supervised release upon his release from prison.
On October 20, 2022, parole officers searched Lee’s residence, where he lived with multiple family members. During the search, they discovered drug paraphernalia and later found substantial quantities of methamphetamine, heroin, and fentanyl on Lee’s person during in-processing at the Anchorage Correctional Complex.
Lee was indicted by a federal grand jury on January 18, 2024, and pleaded guilty to possessing controlled substances with intent to distribute on April 11, 2024. U.S. Attorney Michael J. Heyman emphasized that the sentence serves as a deterrent for those who threaten community safety while on parole.
Special Agent in Charge Rebecca Day highlighted the FBI’s commitment to holding drug traffickers accountable, noting that Lee continued to pose a threat to public safety despite his parole status. The case was investigated by the FBI Anchorage Field Office and Anchorage Police Department as part of the Safe Streets Task Force.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Cody Tirpak prosecuted the case, ensuring justice for the community threatened by Lee’s actions while on parole.
