Muskogee, Oklahoma – 24 months in prison for a local woman who thought she could get away with distributing methamphetamine.
Andrea Dawn Winsett, a 34-year-old resident of Park Hill, Oklahoma, was sentenced to 24 months imprisonment for Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine.
The investigation, led by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, and the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, revealed that Winsett was arrested on March 7, 2023, and booked into the Cherokee County Jail for driving under the influence.
During the booking process, investigators found Winsett in possession of 14.75 grams of actual methamphetamine that she intended to distribute.
On February 6, 2024, Winsett pleaded guilty to the drug distribution charge, leading to her sentencing hearing before the Honorable Ronald A. White, Chief U.S. District Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
Winsett will remain in the custody of the U.S. Marshal pending transportation to a designated United States Bureau of Prisons facility to serve her non-paroleable sentence of incarceration.
Assistant United States Attorney T. Cameron McEwen represented the United States in the case.
