BOSTON – A notorious methamphetamine trafficker has been brought to justice in a federal court in Boston. Andrew Lunn, a 42-year-old Everett man, pleaded guilty to his role in a methamphetamine trafficking conspiracy.
Lunn’s guilty plea comes after a lengthy investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration’s New England Division. He was initially indicted in September 2020 and subsequently charged in a superseding indictment on May 5, 2021, along with three co-conspirators.
According to the charging documents, between October 2019 and September 2020, Lunn and his associates conspired to distribute and possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine throughout the Everett and Boston areas.
Lunn pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine and four counts of distribution of 50 grams or more of methamphetamine. The charges carry a sentence of at least 10 years and up to life in prison, at least five years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $10 million.
U.S. District Court Judge Denise J. Casper has scheduled sentencing for April 27, 2022. Lunn’s sentencing will mark the culmination of a lengthy and complex investigation.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Alathea Porter of the Narcotics and Money Laundering Unit. Acting United States Attorney Nathaniel R. Mendell and Brian D. Boyle, Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration’s New England Division, made the announcement today.
The details contained in the charging documents are allegations. The remaining defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
