Monongalia County Woman Sentenced to 14 Years for Cocaine Trafficking

In a shocking turn of events, Anette Sanabria-Velez, a 40-year-old resident of Morgantown and Granville, West Virginia, was sentenced to 14 years in federal prison for possession with intent to distribute cocaine hydrochloride. The harsh sentence was handed down in a Clarksville court on April 6, 2024.

According to court documents and statements made in court, Sanabria-Velez was involved in a large-scale cocaine trafficking operation in Monongalia County. The investigation revealed that she would often travel to Puerto Rico to order large quantities of cocaine, which would then be shipped to various locations in West Virginia and Maryland for distribution.
