Two Men Sentenced for Oxycodone Conspiracy

In a shocking turn of events, two men were sentenced for their role in a high-profile oxycodone conspiracy in Albany County, New York. Angel Nunez, 28, of Brooklyn, New York, and Stanislav Petkevichus, 28, of Slingerlands, New York, were each handed down stiff sentences for their crimes.

According to court records, Nunez obtained 30 mg tablets of oxycodone from sources in New York City, and worked with Petkevichus and others to sell those oxycodone tablets in Albany County and elsewhere. The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Richard S. Hartunian and Special Agent in Charge James J. Hunt, New York Division, U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). The investigation was led by the DEA, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeffrey C. Coffman handling the prosecution.

Nunez was sentenced to 33 months in prison, to be followed by 3 years of supervised release, and to forfeit $100,000. In a surprising twist, Petkevichus was sentenced to time served (96 days in jail), as well as 3 years of supervised release including 6 months of home detention, and to forfeit $4,435.
