Annie Rose Gasman, Methamphetamine Conspiracy, South Dakota 2017

Methamphetamine Conspiracy Rocks Rosebud

Annie Rose Gasman, a 33-year-old Rosebud woman, has been handed a 27-month prison sentence for her involvement in a methamphetamine conspiracy. Gasman was convicted of conspiring to distribute a controlled substance in the District of South Dakota.

The U.S. Attorney, Ron Parsons, announced that Gasman was sentenced on February 21, 2018 by U.S. District Judge Roberto A. Lange. Gasman had previously pleaded guilty to the charges on December 1, 2017.

During the conspiracy, which took place between August 1, 2015, and June 14, 2017, Gasman knowingly and intentionally conspired with others to distribute methamphetamine in the District of South Dakota. She received distributable quantities of methamphetamine and distributed some of it in South Dakota.

The individuals who provided methamphetamine knew that Gasman intended to engage in further distribution. It was reasonably foreseeable to Gasman that more than 500 grams of methamphetamine would be distributed during the course of the conspiracy.

Gasman was immediately turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service following her sentencing. She was also ordered to pay a fine of $1,000 and a mandatory special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund in the amount of $100.

This case was investigated by the Rosebud Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services, with Assistant U.S. Attorney SaraBeth Donovan prosecuting the case.

The harsh sentence handed down to Gasman serves as a reminder of the severe consequences of involvement in methamphetamine trafficking. Law enforcement agencies continue to work tirelessly to dismantle these conspiracies and bring those responsible to justice.

In a statement, U.S. Attorney Ron Parsons emphasized the importance of holding individuals accountable for their actions. ‘This sentence reflects the seriousness of the offense and the need to protect our communities from the devastating effects of methamphetamine,’ Parsons said.
