Anthony Coplin, Cocaine Distribution, Massachusetts 2022

BOSTON – A Dorchester man was sentenced for trafficking over 13 kilograms of cocaine in federal court in Boston.

Anthony Coplin, 57, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Richard G. Stearns to time served (approximately five years in prison) and four years of supervised release.

Coplin pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine on April 13, 2022.

Coplin was one of 52 defendants tied to the Columbia Point Dawgs (CPD) who were charged in five separate indictments in June 2015 for drug trafficking offenses.

CPD, also known as “the Point,” was Boston’s largest and most influential citywide gang. The criminal organization started in the 1980s in the former Columbia Point Housing Development (now Harbor Point) and, over the years, gang members established drug trafficking crews throughout Boston.

Coplin was involved in the distribution of over 13 kilograms of cocaine in Massachusetts.

The case is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation, which identifies, disrupts, and dismantles the highest-level criminal organizations that threaten the United States using a prosecutor-led, intelligence-driven, multi-agency approach.
