Worcester Man Sentenced for Reentering US After Deportation
BOSTON – In a shocking turn of events, a Mexican national residing in Worcester was sentenced to time served for reentering the United States after being previously deported. Oscar Conrado Ureiro Romero, 23, was sentenced to time served for one count of unlawful reentry of a deported alien before U.S. District Court Judge Timothy S. Hillman.
According to the investigation, Ureiro Romero was deported twice in April 2013. However, in May 2017, federal agents discovered him in Worcester and determined him to be illegally present in the United States.
Acting United States Attorney William D. Weinreb, Matthew J. Etre, Special Agent in Charge of Homeland Security Investigations in Boston, and Colonel Richard D. McKeon, Superintendent of the Massachusetts State Police, made the announcement today. Assistant U.S. Attorney Mark J. Grady of Weinreb’s Worcester Branch Office prosecuted the case.
