Anthony Jeroid Cue, Armed Career Criminal, Florida 2024

Orlando, FL – In a resounding blow against gun violence and illegal firearms trade, U.S. District Judge Carlos E. Mendoza yesterday sentenced Anthony Jeroid Cue, 47, of Daytona Beach, to a stiff 15-year federal prison term. The sentence stems from Cue’s status as an armed career criminal, a label earned through his extensive criminal history that includes multiple serious drug convictions.

Cue pleaded guilty on October 27, 2016, for arranging the sale of illegal narcotics and three firearms over several months to a confidential informant. Following his arrest, authorities discovered five additional firearms hidden at his residence.

This case was a collaborative effort between the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Daytona Beach Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Embry J. Kidd led the prosecution.

The sentence handed down to Cue is part of the Department of Justice’s “Project Safe Neighborhoods” program, a national initiative aimed at reducing gun violence. United States Attorney A. Lee Bentley, III, and Special Agent in Charge Daryl R. McCrary of ATF coordinate this effort within the Middle District of Florida, working alongside federal, state, and local law enforcement.

Project Safe Neighborhoods is part of ATF’s broader Frontline strategy to combat violent crime in communities across the nation. The coordinated efforts of these agencies underscore the commitment to eradicating illegal firearms trade and reducing gun violence on a local and national scale.
