A South Bend man has been sentenced to 125 months in prison for his role in a sex trafficking case that spanned across two states.
Anthony Huey, 34, was sentenced by District Court Judge Jon E. DeGuilio for transporting a minor with the intent to engage in prostitution.
According to court documents, Huey transported Jane Doe, a minor under the age of 18, from Indiana to Illinois between October 3, 2014, and October 6, 2014, with the purpose that she engage in prostitution.
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney John M. Maciejczyk.
The sentencing hearing took place in South Bend, Indiana, where Huey will serve 125 months in prison followed by 2 years of supervised release.
The amount of restitution to be paid to the minor victim will be determined within the next 30 days.
Huey’s case serves as a reminder of the severity of sex trafficking crimes and the efforts being made to bring perpetrators to justice.
The FBI and other law enforcement agencies will continue to work tirelessly to identify and prosecute those involved in sex trafficking cases.
