Cranston Man Pleads Guilty to Methamphetamine Trafficking
PROVIDENCE – In a shocking turn of events, 37-year-old Anthony Stevens from Cranston, Rhode Island, pleaded guilty to charges related to the trafficking of tens-of-thousands of counterfeit pills laced with methamphetamine.
According to court documents, Stevens was found to be in possession of a large quantity of counterfeit Adderall pills laced with methamphetamine. The investigation, which spanned nine months, was led by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
During the investigation, DEA agents seized a total of 30,226 pills containing methamphetamine from Stevens’ vehicle and a Providence residence he used as a stash house, along with $3,360 in cash.
Stevens pleaded guilty to two counts of possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine. He is scheduled to be sentenced on October 30, 2025. The sentences imposed will be determined by a federal district judge after consideration of the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Julie White. The matter was investigated by the DEA and ATF.
Stevens’ guilty plea brings an end to a lengthy and complex investigation. The case highlights the ongoing struggle against methamphetamine trafficking in Rhode Island and the importance of collaboration between law enforcement agencies.
