Antoine Miller, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, West Virginia 2021

CHARLESTON, WEST VIRGINIA – Antoine Miller, a 36-year-old man from Charleston, pleaded guilty to a federal gun crime today.

According to court documents and statements made in court, Miller admitted to possessing a Ruger 9 mm handgun at Renaissance Circle in Charleston on April 28, 2020. Miller is prohibited from possessing firearms as a result of a prior federal Hobbs Act conspiracy conviction, for which he spent over 10 years in federal prison.

Miller pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm and faces up to 10 years in prison when he is sentenced on September 7, 2021.

Acting United States Attorney Lisa G. Johnston made the announcement. Assistant United States Attorney Steve Loew is handling the prosecution.

The Charleston Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) conducted the investigation. Senior United States District Judge David A. Faber presided over the hearing.

With his guilty plea, Miller is admitting to breaking the law and putting the community at risk. As a convicted felon, he should not have been in possession of a firearm. The sentence he faces reflects the seriousness of his actions.
