EL DORADO – In a major blow to the illegal narcotics trade, Antonio Bush, a 40-year-old man from Harrell, Arkansas, has been sentenced to 11 years in federal prison for his role in distributing methamphetamine.
According to court documents, on August 12, 2020, investigators with the 13th Judicial District Drug Task Force and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) conducted a controlled purchase of methamphetamine from Bush. The methamphetamine field tested positive and was sent to the crime lab for further testing.
U.S. Attorney David Clay Fowlkes of the Western District of Arkansas made the announcement, praising the tireless efforts of the investigators who brought Bush to justice.
The 13th Judicial District Drug Task Force and the FBI investigated the case, which was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Kim Harris and Graham Jones.
Bush was sentenced to 140 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release on one count of Distribution of Methamphetamine. The Honorable Chief Judge Susan O. Hickey presided over the sentencing hearing in the United States District Court in El Dorado.
The sentencing of Bush serves as a stark reminder of the devastating consequences of methamphetamine trafficking and the importance of continued efforts to combat this deadly crime.
The people of Arkansas can rest a little easier knowing that Bush will be behind bars for the next 11 years, unable to peddle his poison on our streets.
