A 31-year-old Hartford gang member has been found guilty of a brutal 2013 murder.
Antwane Williams-Bey, also known as ‘Buck,’ was convicted of shooting and killing 21-year-old Valentin Santos Jr., also known as ‘Macho’ and ‘Ubby,’ on Linnmoore Street in Hartford on August 12, 2013.
The murder was a retaliatory act after Williams-Bey’s drug stash/money was stolen.
Santos was shot approximately 12 times, mostly in the back, and the jury returned a guilty verdict after a trial that began on October 20.
Williams-Bey was already serving an 84-month federal sentence for distributing heroin and crack cocaine and has been detained in federal custody since February 2017.
At sentencing, Williams-Bey faces a maximum term of imprisonment of life.
The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Northern Connecticut Gang Task Force and the Hartford Police Department’s Major Crimes Division.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Brian P. Leaming and Robert S. Ruff.
