A 30-year-old Fort Ann, New York woman, April Allen, has pleaded guilty to conspiring to distribute cocaine. The announcement was made by Acting United States Attorney Antoinette T. Bacon and Ray Donovan, Special Agent in Charge of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), New York Division.
As part of her guilty plea, Allen admitted that between July 2019 and November 2019, she agreed with another person to distribute cocaine.
Allen’s guilty plea comes after an investigation by the DEA. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Ashlyn Miranda.
The maximum term of imprisonment Allen faces is 20 years. She also faces a maximum fine of $1 million and a term of post-imprisonment supervised release of at least 3 years and up to life.
A defendant’s sentence is imposed by a judge based on the particular statute the defendant is charged with violating, the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other factors.
Allen’s sentencing is scheduled for April 1, 2021.
