An Arizona man, Kendrick Harvey, 36, an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, was sentenced to 33 months in prison for assaulting a woman at her New Mexico residence on September 16, 2024. Harvey, who was intoxicated at the time, pleaded guilty to assault resulting in serious bodily injury. The victim, Jane Doe, suffered serious bodily injury as a result of the assault. The incident occurred while Harvey was visiting the woman’s home.
The investigation was conducted by the Gallup Resident Agency of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Albuquerque Field Office, with assistance from the Navajo Nation Police Department and Navajo Department of Criminal Investigations. Assistant U.S. Attorney Amy Mondragon prosecuted the case, which was announced by First Assistant U.S. Attorney Ryan Ellison and Justin A. Garris, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Albuquerque Field Office.
Harvey will serve his 33-month sentence without parole, as there is no parole in the federal system. Upon his release from prison, he will be subject to three years of supervised release.
