A massive federal sting operation was conducted in Petersburg, Virginia on May 20, 2024, resulting in the arrest of nine individuals on various drug and firearms charges. Among those arrested was Armon Lee, 26, from Warfield, Virginia, who faces charges of Sale or Disposal of a Firearm to a Convicted Felon and Distribution of Cocaine.
The coordinated takedown, which involved over 150 law enforcement agents and officers, was led by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Petersburg Bureau of Police. The operation aimed to disrupt the flow of illegal firearms and drugs in the community.
Armon Lee, 26, from Warfield, Virginia, was among those arrested in Petersburg. He is charged with Sale or Disposal of a Firearm to a Convicted Felon and Distribution of Cocaine. His current status is unknown.
The operation is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), the centerpiece of the government’s violent crime reduction efforts. PSN is an evidence-based program that has proven to be effective at reducing violent crime.
The other defendants arrested in the sting operation include Terrell Dean Johnson, 30, from Petersburg; Titus Maurice Lee, 44, from Petersburg; Autrelle Malik Waddell, 22, from Petersburg; Miles Owanga Johnson, 39, from Petersburg; Charles Lee Avery, 44, from Petersburg; Tyrell Jakahree Allen, 26, from Prince George; Vincent Edward Stewart, 29, from Petersburg; and Calvin Alphonso Turner, 32, from Petersburg.
According to the government, the defendants were involved in the distribution of cocaine, heroin, and fentanyl, as well as the possession of firearms by convicted felons. The operation was a result of a strong partnership between the ATF and the Petersburg Bureau of Police.
The government has not provided any information on the outcome of the case or the sentence that Armon Lee may face. However, the operation is a significant step towards reducing violent crime in Petersburg and the surrounding areas.
