Baltimore, Maryland – A disturbing case of child exploitation has reached its conclusion as 51-year-old Arnold resident Robert P. Kramer was sentenced to five years in federal prison for distributing child pornography. The sentence, handed down by U.S. District Judge J. Frederick Motz, also mandates a subsequent five years of supervised release and sex offender registration under the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA).
In court documents, Kramer admitted his membership in ‘The Website,’ an online community dedicated to the distribution of child pornography. This sinister network required members to share explicit material continuously to maintain their VIP status. Kramer reportedly made 69 posts on this site between April 29, 2013, and December 9, 2014, featuring images of prepubescent girls engaged in sexually explicit acts.
The investigation revealed that Kramer possessed over 600 videos and images of minors engaged in sexual conduct. A search warrant executed at his home yielded digital devices with encryption and ‘virtual machines’ designed to conceal evidence. U.S. Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein, Special Agent in Charge Gordon B. Johnson of the FBI Baltimore Field Office, and Colonel William M. Pallozzi of the Maryland State Police all participated in this case.
Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative aimed at combating child exploitation, played a crucial role in Kramer’s prosecution. Assistant U.S. Attorney Zachary A. Myers handled the prosecution. Rosenstein praised the FBI, Maryland State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, and Myers for their dedication to justice.
