A Louisville man has been sentenced to 250 months in prison for his role in a methamphetamine trafficking operation.
Arthur Powers Jr., 44, was found guilty of possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine. According to court records, Powers was stopped by law enforcement on September 10, 2023, while traveling to Laurel County from Louisville to deliver five pounds of methamphetamine.
During the traffic stop, authorities seized 4.5 pounds of methamphetamine from Powers’ vehicle. He later admitted to bringing the substance into the area to distribute it to others.

Following his release from prison, Powers will be under the supervision of the U.S. Probation Office for five years.
The investigation was conducted by the FBI, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Sam Dotson prosecuting the case on behalf of the United States.
The sentence was jointly announced by Carlton S. Shier, IV, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Kentucky, and Michael Stansbury, Special Agent in Charge, FBI, Louisville Field Office.
