Defendant’s Fatal Mistake Behind the Wheel Costs Her 48 Months in Prison
A Marshall County resident’s decision to drive under the influence nearly two years ago has resulted in a 48-month prison sentence for Involuntary Manslaughter in Indian Country.
Ashley Nicole Castleberry-Miller, 31, of Kingston, Oklahoma, was sentenced for her role in a fatal accident that occurred on April 20, 2024, in Seminole County. Castleberry-Miller pleaded guilty to the charge on April 3, 2025.
The charges against Castleberry-Miller stemmed from an investigation by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, and the Seminole Police Department. According to investigators, Castleberry-Miller failed to devote full time and attention to driving and drove left of the center line of the roadway while driving without due caution, and operated a motor vehicle under the influence of an intoxicating substance other than alcohol.
The crime occurred in Seminole County, within the boundaries of the Seminole Nation Reservation, in the Eastern District of Oklahoma. The Honorable Ronald A. White, Chief U.S. District Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, presided over the hearing.
Ashley Nicole Castleberry-Miller will remain in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service pending transportation to a designated United States Bureau of Prisons facility to serve a non-paroleable sentence of incarceration. Assistant U.S. Attorney Kevin Gross represented the United States.
