DETROIT, Mich. – Today’s grim headlines were written in blood as the FBI’s relentless pursuit of terror culminated in the arrest of a third suspect in Dearborn, Michigan. Ayob Nasser, 19, became the latest addition to the chilling saga involving Mohmed Ali and Majed Mahmoud, both of Dearborn, who were previously charged.
The trio now faces a mountain of charges for conspiring to provide material support to ISIS—a ruthless terror group that has shown no mercy to American lives. Nasser, Ali, and Mahmoud are also accused of possessing firearms intended for acts of terrorism on behalf of the Islamic State. The arsenal included AR-style rifles, shotguns, handguns, and other tactical gear designed for mayhem.
In a show of unwavering resolve, U.S. Attorney Jerome F. Gorgon, Jr., declared, ‘We will not stop. We will follow the tentacles where they lead. We will continue to stand guard with the FBI against terrorism.’ The message was echoed by Jennifer Runyan, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Detroit Field Office, who vowed, ‘FBI Detroit and its Joint Terrorism Task Force will continue to investigate, arrest, and disrupt all attempts or plots to do harm to our residents or to anyone within the United States. Nothing will stop us from working with our law enforcement partners to defend the homeland and uphold the constitution.’
