Baltazar Lopez-Zamudio Charged with Illegal Reentry
Baltazar Lopez-Zamudio, a 28-year-old resident of Kennett Square, PA, has been accused of breaking the law by reentering the United States after being deported.
According to officials, Lopez-Zamudio, also known as ‘Baltazar Lopez’ and ‘Jorge Sanchez-Rodriguez,’ was deported from the US on March 5, 2010, but was found in the country again on September 17, 2014.
Lopez-Zamudio, a native and citizen of Mexico, faces a maximum sentence of 20 years if convicted of the charge, which was announced by United States Attorney Zane David Memeger.
The case was investigated by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Enforcement and Removal Operations (‘ERO’), and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Terri Marinari.
An indictment is merely an accusation, and Lopez-Zamudio is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
