Baltimore, MD – A federal jury has convicted Kenneth Ray Graham, 38, of Baltimore, for attempting an armed robbery that terrorized the Cherry Hill neighborhood. Graham faces a life sentence after being found guilty of multiple counts related to his attempted home invasion.
United States Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein announced the guilty verdict alongside law enforcement officials from the ATF, Baltimore Police Department, and Baltimore City State’s Attorney’s Office. ‘ATF is committed to working with our state and local law enforcement partners to bring violent criminals to justice,’ said ATF Special Agent in Charge William P. McMullan.
The trial evidence revealed Graham’s attempted entry into a home on September 17, 2013, during which he fired three shots, striking a nine-year-old boy. Graham had previously been convicted of a felony, making him prohibited from firearm possession. DNA evidence linked Graham to the crime scene and his escape route.
Graham is facing a maximum sentence of 20 years for the attempted robbery; 10- life for possessing and discharging a weapon in furtherance of a crime of violence; and an additional 10 years as a felon in possession of a firearm. U.S. District Judge William D. Quarles, Jr. has set sentencing for May 13, 2015.
U.S. Attorney Rosenstein commended the ATF, Baltimore Police Department, and Baltimore City State’s Attorney’s Office for their efforts in this investigation, thanking Assistant United States Attorneys Seema Mittal and Kenneth S. Clark for their prosecution of the case.
