Bank Robber on the Loose in Clarksville

A daring daylight robbery shook the quiet streets of Clarksville, Tennessee, as a masked gunman stormed into the U.S. Bank on Fort Campbell Boulevard, demanding at least $50,000 from a terrified teller.

According to eyewitnesses, the suspect, identified as 25-year-old Muhammed Talik Shahid, handed the note to the teller and began pacing back and forth, glancing out the front windows of the bank before fleeing the scene without any cash.

An alert citizen, who wishes to remain anonymous, witnessed the entire ordeal and followed the suspect as he drove away. The Good Samaritan flagged down a police officer in nearby Oak Grove, Kentucky, who then surveilled the suspect’s vehicle until it returned to Clarksville.

Clarksville Police Department officers arrested Shahid and found him to be in possession of a loaded handgun. The suspect’s vehicle was tracked by authorities, leading to his swift apprehension.

U.S. Attorney Don Cochran for the Middle District of Tennessee announced the charges against Shahid, who faces up to 25 years in federal prison if convicted.

The FBI, Clarksville Police Department, and Oak Grove, Kentucky Police Department collaborated on the investigation, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Lynne T. Ingram handling the prosecution.
