Bank Robber Sentenced to 2 Years
A 22-year-old Buffalo woman has been sentenced to 24 months in prison for bank robbery, according to U.S. Attorney William J. Hochul, Jr. Adlyn Marie Echevarria Robles was ordered to pay $13,168 in restitution by Chief U.S. District Judge William M. Skretny.
Robles was convicted of passing demand notes threatening the use of a weapon at two M&T Bank locations in Buffalo. On July 5, 2013, she entered the M&T Bank at 1580 Hertel Avenue and on July 24, 2013, she entered the M&T Bank at 709 Elmwood Avenue, both times passing a demand note to the teller.
The investigation into Robles’ crimes was led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Safe Streets Task Force. The case was handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Mary Catherine Baumgarten.
Robles’ sentencing is the culmination of a lengthy investigation, and U.S. Attorney Hochul has praised the work of the FBI and other law enforcement agencies for bringing the case to a successful resolution.
The sentencing also serves as a reminder of the seriousness of bank robbery, a crime that can have severe consequences for both the perpetrator and the victims.
Charges against co-defendant Ronald McClendon, Jr. are still pending, and he has not yet been proven guilty in a court of law.
