Bank Robber Sentenced to 41 Months
A 30-year-old Hampton man has been sentenced to 41 months in prison for his role in a series of bank robberies in the summer of 2013.
According to court documents, Jason Pratt walked into three banks in Hampton and Seabrook, New Hampshire, on three separate occasions, presenting a handwritten note demanding money and making off with a total of $11,740.
The robberies took place on March 22, April 3, and April 20, 2013, at banks in Hampton and Seabrook. Pratt was arrested and charged with unarmed bank robbery and conspiracy to commit unarmed bank robbery.
United States Attorney John P. Kacavas announced the sentencing, which was handed down in United States District Court for the District of New Hampshire.
Special Agents Laura Hanlon and John Ennis led the investigation for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, in collaboration with the Police Departments of Hampton and Seabrook, New Hampshire.
Assistant United States Attorney Nick Abramson prosecuted the case, bringing Pratt to justice for his crimes.
Pratt’s sentencing is a significant blow to the community, who can now rest easier knowing that the perpetrator of these crimes is behind bars.
The case serves as a reminder of the importance of community policing and the collaborative efforts of law enforcement agencies in bringing criminals to justice.
