Bank Robber Sentenced
A Mobile man was sentenced to 109 months in prison for robbing an Iberia Bank in August 2015. Brent H. Cox, 58, of Semmes, was found guilty of the bank robbery charge in December of the same year.
According to the Southern District of Alabama, United States Attorney Kenyen R. Brown announced the sentencing in federal court. Cox was accused of robbing the Iberia Bank on the west I-65 Service Road in Mobile.
United States District Court Judge Charles R. Butler, Jr., imposed the sentence of 109 months imprisonment, along with a three-year term of supervised release to follow his release from custody. No fine was imposed, but Cox was ordered to pay $100 in special mandatory assessments and restitution to the bank.
The investigation into the bank robbery was conducted by the Mobile Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The case was prosecuted in the United States Attorney’s Office by Assistant United States Attorneys Gina Vann and Gloria Bedwell.
