Bayless Cobb Sentenced for Cocaine Trafficking, Portland OR, 2025
BAYLESS COBB, a 45-year-old man from Portland, Oregon, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for his role in a massive cocaine trafficking operation.
According to court documents, Cobb was arrested in March 2025 and charged with conspiracy to distribute cocaine, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
Prosecutors alleged that Cobb was a key player in a large-scale cocaine trafficking ring that brought in millions of dollars in profits. The scheme allegedly involved smuggling cocaine into the United States from Mexico and distributing it to dealers across the country.
Cobb’s attorneys, Gretchen Von Helms and Meredith Bateman, argued that their client was not as involved in the operation as prosecutors claimed and that he was simply a mid-level player in the scheme.
However, U.S. District Judge sentenced Cobb to 10 years in prison, citing the severity of the crime and the need to hold individuals accountable for their role in the opioid epidemic.
Cobb’s sentencing is seen as a significant victory for law enforcement and a major blow to the cocaine trafficking ring.
The case, United States v. Cobb, was brought by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Oregon and was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys [names not available].
Cobb’s arrest and sentencing are the latest in a series of high-profile cocaine trafficking cases in the Portland area.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Oregon has vowed to continue its efforts to combat cocaine trafficking and bring those responsible to justice.
