Brent M. Gorshe, Oxycodone Distribution, Ohio 2013

In a shocking turn of events, a Belmont County, Ohio man has been convicted of distributing oxycodone, sending shockwaves through the community.

Brent M. Gorshe, 27, of Martins Ferry, Ohio, was convicted of one count of Conspiracy to distribute and to possess with the intent to distribute oxycodone. The crime took place in Ohio County and elsewhere from 2013 to 2016.

Gorshe’s guilty plea comes as a result of a lengthy investigation by the Ohio Valley Drug & Violent Crime Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative. The task force worked tirelessly to gather evidence and build a case against the defendant.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert H. McWilliams, Jr. prosecuted the case on behalf of the government. U.S. Magistrate Judge James E. Seibert presided over the proceedings.

According to the terms of the plea agreement, Gorshe faces up to twenty years in prison and a fine of up to $1,000,000. The actual sentence imposed will be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.
