Fresno Man Sentenced to 20 Months in Prison for Mail Theft.
In a shocking case of mail theft, a Fresno man has been sentenced to 20 months in prison for his involvement in the crime.
Bee Yang, a 31-year-old resident of Fresno, was found in possession of stolen mail containing checks totaling approximately $36,000 from at least 250 victims.
The case was the result of an investigation by the United States Postal Inspection Service. Assistant United States Attorney Patrick R. Delahunty prosecuted the case.
According to court documents, on January 5, 2012, Yang was in possession of stolen mail that included stolen checks totaling approximately $36,000 from at least 250 victims. Additionally, Yang was also in possession of items used to steal mail and chemicals that could be used to erase previously written checks so that the payee and amount of a check could be rewritten.
