US Attorney Appoints Prosecutors to Leadership Roles in Western District of Tennessee
Memphis, TN – In a move to strengthen the Western District of Tennessee, US Attorney D. Michael Dunavant has appointed four Assistant US Attorneys to key leadership positions. Beth C. Boswell, Patrick Neal Oldham, and two other prosecutors will lead the office in various capacities.
Beth Boswell, a career prosecutor with over 20 years of experience, has been appointed as the First Assistant US Attorney. Boswell brings with her a reputation for effective prosecution and sound legal and ethical judgment. She has tried hundreds of felony cases to verdict, including complex gang and long-term narcotic prosecutions, firearms violations, murders, rapes, arsons, robberies, and other violent crimes.
Boswell’s extensive experience in the field of law enforcement and prosecution makes her an ideal candidate for this position. Prior to joining the US Attorney’s Office, she served as the Deputy Chief Assistant District Attorney General for Tennessee’s 24th Judicial District Attorney General’s office for 16 years. During her service, she worked as a Special Assistant US Attorney (SAUSA) for the US Attorney’s Office of the Western District of Tennessee from 2011 to 2014.
Beth Boswell is a graduate of Cumberland University in Lebanon, TN, where she received an athletic and academic scholarship. She graduated from Middle Tennessee University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee with a B.S. degree in Pre-Law/Political Science and received her Juris Doctorate degree from South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas.
Patrick Neal Oldham, a native Memphian, has been appointed as the Criminal Chief. Oldham has over 15 years of experience in the field of law enforcement and prosecution. He began his legal career in 2004 as an Assistant District Attorney for the Tennessee’s 25th Judicial District, serving Tipton, Lauderdale, Fayette, Hardeman, and McNairy counties.
These appointments demonstrate the US Attorney’s commitment to providing effective leadership and resources to the Western District of Tennessee. The office is dedicated to upholding justice and ensuring public safety in the region.
