Boston – Terrence Pyrtle, also known as ‘Big T,’ ‘T,’ and ‘big_t558,’ has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for his role in a massive drug distribution ring. The Taunton man was involved in a conspiracy that included wholesale quantities of cocaine, fentanyl, fentanyl analogue, and methamphetamine.
Pyrtle, 42, also pleaded guilty to using the identity of an unsuspecting individual to rent apartments in Braintree and Somerville for drug trafficking purposes. He and his co-conspirator, Ashley Roostaie, created a fake email account and counterfeit driver’s license, obtaining a Green Dot debit card to finance their operations.
Pyrtle was charged along with Roostaie in April 2023. They used the individual’s personal information to lease apartments that Pyrtle employed for drug distribution across Massachusetts. The scheme was uncovered as part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation.
In a separate proceeding, Roostaie was sentenced to two years of probation and ordered to pay $1,000 in fines and restitution. The investigation was led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Boston Division, and the Massachusetts State Police, with assistance from local law enforcement agencies.
The sentencing marks another successful effort by federal authorities to dismantle high-level criminal organizations threatening the United States through a multi-agency approach.
