Brunswick County, NC – In a major blow to the city’s underworld, the highest-ranking member of the Bloods street gang in Brunswick County has been brought down in a massive cocaine bust. The prosecution, led by the United States Attorney’s Office, resulted in the convictions of 26 defendants, including the notorious gang leader.
According to sources, the defendants trafficked large amounts of cocaine and crack cocaine from Texas to Brunswick County, with one defendant responsible for trafficking almost 28 kilograms of cocaine. The operation also led to the seizure of heroin, fentanyl, and more than a dozen firearms.
The press conference, scheduled for Thursday, August 19, 2021, at 1:00 p.m., will take place at the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office, located at 70 Stamp Act Drive, Bolivia, NC 28422. In addition to Acting United States Attorney G. Norman Acker, III, attendees will include Sheriff John Ingram of Brunswick County, Resident Agent in Charge Shawn Stallo of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and District Attorney Jon David.
