30-Year Old Man Convicted of Sexually Abusing Minor Daughters

A federal jury in Alexandria, Louisiana has delivered a guilty verdict against Bobby Joe Mincey, 30, of aggravated sexual abuse of a minor.

The jury returned the verdict on September 7, 2022, following a three-day trial presided over by United States District Judge Dee D. Drell.

According to the investigation, Mincey was living with his wife, a soldier in the U.S. Army, and her two minor daughters at Fort Polk, Louisiana, in December 2019. During this time, Mincey allegedly sexually abused the two stepdaughters, who were ages 6 and 9 at the time.

Mincey’s stepdaughters confided in their mother about the abuse, prompting her to contact the Fort Polk Military Police. The FBI subsequently launched an investigation and interviewed the minor victims. In May 2021, a federal grand jury returned an indictment charging Mincey with aggravated sexual abuse.

The minor victims testified at trial that Mincey forced them to perform oral sex on him, starting when they were just 5 and 6 years old. United States Attorney Brandon B. Brown hailed the bravery of the minor victims in testifying against their abuser.

Mincey faces a minimum sentence of 30 years in prison and a maximum of life in prison, along with a $250,000 fine. Sentencing has been scheduled for December 9, 2022.

The case was investigated by the FBI and United States Army, Criminal Investigation Division, and is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys J. Luke Walker and LaDonte A. Murphy.
