Bobby Johnson, Distribution of Child Sexual Abuse Material, Delaware 2024

A Wilmington man was sentenced to 121 months in federal prison for distributing child sexual abuse material (CSAM). U.S. District Judge Gregory B. Williams imposed the sentence.

The defendant, Bobby Johnson, 40, of Wilmington, was convicted of Distributing Child Sexual Abuse Material, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 2252A(a)(2)(A).

The charges against Bobby Johnson were brought as a result of an investigation conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the Delaware State Police.

Bobby Johnson was arrested and charged on August 15, 2023 with Distributing Child Sexual Abuse Material. He entered a guilty plea on February 22, 2024.

U.S. Attorney for the District of Delaware, David C. Weiss, praised the investigative efforts of HSI and the Delaware State Police, saying, ‘This case highlights the importance of collaboration between law enforcement agencies in combating the scourge of child exploitation.’

HSI Special Agent in Charge, Matthew E. O’Donnell, added, ‘We commend the bravery of the victims and their families who came forward to report these heinous crimes.’

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney, Rebecca A. Perez.

Bobby Johnson is scheduled to serve his sentence at a federal correctional institution to be determined. When released, he will be required to register as a sex offender and will be subject to a term of supervised release.
