Akron Man Sentenced for Fentanyl Trafficking

A 40-year-old Detroit man, Brad Lewis Bradley, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for his role in a fentanyl trafficking operation in Akron, Ohio. According to court documents, Bradley was found to be in possession of 221 grams of fentanyl, two loaded pistols, and was using an alias to avoid prosecution in Detroit.

The U.S. Attorney’s office announced that Bradley pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense. He was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge John R. Adams under a career offender enhancement due to previous felony convictions for drug trafficking in Detroit.

Law enforcement agents from the Summit County Drug Unit and the Drug Enforcement Administration executed a search warrant at Bradley’s residence in Akron on September 12, 2019. During the search, they found the fentanyl and firearms, leading to Bradley’s arrest.

Bradley was living in Akron as a fugitive, using an alias to avoid prosecution for drug trafficking charges in Detroit. His previous felony convictions in Detroit were used to enhance his sentence in this case.

The case was investigated by the Summit County Drug Unit and the Drug Enforcement Administration, and was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Aaron Howell.
