Canadian National Pleads Guilty to Sexually Abusing Minors

According to court documents, Brady John Hillis, 32, a citizen of Canada, was at the Fortune Bay Resort and Casino on the Bois Forte Indian Reservation on June 22, 2018. Surveillance video captured Hillis engaging in sexual contact with the two minor victims, who were both under 12 years of age.

Hillis pleaded guilty yesterday before Chief U.S. District Judge John R. Tunheim to two counts of abusive sexual contact with a child under 12 years of age. A sentencing hearing will be scheduled for a later date.

This case is the result of an investigation conducted by the FBI and the Bois Forte Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Deidre Y. Aanstad is prosecuting the case.
