Branden Lee Narvaiz, Cocaine Possession with Intent to Distribute, Texas 2024

Branden Lee Narvaiz, a 35-year-old man, has been handed a harsh sentence for his involvement in a cocaine trafficking operation in Corpus Christi, Texas. According to court documents, Narvaiz pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute a substance containing a detectable amount of cocaine.

The investigation, led by Homeland Security Investigations, Texas Department of Public Safety, Duval County Sheriff’s Department, and Starr County High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area task force, revealed that Narvaiz was stopped by law enforcement on April 11 while driving on the wrong side of the road. During the search of his vehicle, authorities found cash, cocaine, scales, and baggies.

Following the return of a federal indictment, Narvaiz was arrested on June 14, and further evidence was discovered, including more cocaine, money, and plastic bags. As part of his plea agreement, Narvaiz admitted to possessing 500 grams or more of a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of cocaine.

U.S. District Judge David S. Morales has ordered Narvaiz to serve 60 months in federal prison, followed by four years of supervised release. At the hearing, the court heard additional evidence that at the time of the offense, Narvaiz was on state parole for the same crime.

Narvaiz will remain in custody pending transfer to a U.S. Bureau of Prisons facility to be determined in the near future. Assistant U.S. Attorney Liesel Roscher prosecuted the case, bringing the guilty party to justice.

The harsh sentence handed down to Narvaiz serves as a warning to those involved in cocaine trafficking operations in the region.
