Local Man Sentenced to 10 Years in Prison for Methamphetamine Trafficking

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Brayan Luces, a 25-year-old man from Columbus, Ohio, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for his role in a multi-state drug trafficking organization.

According to court documents, Luces was a key player in a conspiracy that distributed large amounts of fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, and other illegal drugs in the Huntington area. From May to July 2021, Luces regularly shipped a minimum of 1 kilogram of fentanyl and 1 kilogram of cocaine to Huntington.

Law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at Luces’ residence in Columbus on July 22, 2021, and seized 13 kilograms of fentanyl, 2 kilograms of methamphetamine, approximately $26,484 in cash, two firearms, and various magazines and ammunition.

Luces was charged with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, 400 grams or more of fentanyl, and five kilograms or more of cocaine. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison, followed by five years of supervised release.

Other defendants in the case were also sentenced to prison time. Kimberly Ann Combs, a 45-year-old woman from Huntington, was sentenced to six months in prison for possession with intent to distribute a quantity of oxycodone.

The investigation into the multi-state drug trafficking organization was a collaborative effort between law enforcement agencies, including the FBI. The case highlights the importance of targeting the supply side of the drug trade to reduce overdose deaths and obstacles to recovery.
