Local Man Sentenced to 24 Years for Meth Conspiracy

Brent A. Tribble, a 30-year-old man from Kirbyville, Missouri, has been sentenced to 24 years in federal prison without parole for his role in a methamphetamine conspiracy in southwest Missouri. Tribble was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Roseann Ketchmark in federal court.

According to court documents, Tribble pleaded guilty to participating in a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine in southwest Missouri and in the Lebanon, Missouri, area from March 1, 2018, to January 22, 2019. The conspiracy involved several individuals, including Neal A. Norles, Stephan D. Samons, and April E. Luke.

Tribble was stopped by a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper on June 24, 2018, while riding in a vehicle driven by April E. Luke. During the traffic stop, the trooper found a zippered bag containing 469.9 grams of 98 percent pure methamphetamine, as well as a black backpack containing a Taurus 9mm semi-automatic pistol, an SCCY 9mm semi-automatic pistol, a Connecticut Valley Arms .50-caliber black-powder rifle, ammunition, and 3.5 grams of methamphetamine.

Tribble admitted that the methamphetamine and firearms found in the vehicle were his. The investigation also led to the seizure of nearly 2.4 kilograms of methamphetamine from a Dodge Charger in which Norles was a passenger during a traffic stop on Interstate 44 in Newton County, Missouri, on January 22, 2019.

Tribble is the first defendant sentenced in this case. Co-defendants Norles, Samons, and Luke have pleaded guilty and await sentencing. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Nhan D. Nguyen, and was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

The sentence handed down to Tribble is a harsh reminder of the severe consequences of participating in methamphetamine trafficking. The investigation and prosecution of this case demonstrate the commitment of law enforcement agencies to disrupting and dismantling methamphetamine trafficking organizations.
