Shawn Tepen, Methamphetamine Possession, Missouri 2019

ST. LOUIS, MO – In a shocking turn of events, Shawn Tepen, a 32-year-old resident of Cedar Hill, Missouri, has been sentenced to 90 months in prison for possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute.

According to sources, Tepen was identified as a suspect who was receiving a large number of suspected narcotics packages at his home on Golden Spring Court in Cedar Hill back in May 2019. Investigators from the FBI and USPIS worked closely with members of the Jefferson County Drug Task Force to gather information about Tepen’s alleged activities.

On September 3, investigators learned that Tepen would be receiving a package containing methamphetamine. The next day, investigators located a package addressed to Tepen’s home with a return address from Los Angeles, California and a fake name listed as the sender. A K-9 unit was used to sniff the package, and the dog indicated a presence of narcotics.

Using a search warrant, investigators discovered four pounds and 7.8 ounces of a crystalline substance later determined to be methamphetamine. On September 9, an undercover postal investigator conducted a controlled delivery of the package to Tepen’s home. Tepen eventually left his home, picked up the package, and went back inside. Investigators then used an anticipatory search warrant to search Tepen’s home, where they found a firearm with three magazines, 1,983.7 grams of methamphetamine, and a large mushroom grow lab in the basement.

The FBI, U.S. Postal Inspection Service, and Jefferson County Drug Task Force investigated this case. Assistant United States Attorney Nauman Wadalawala is handling the case.

Shawn Tepen’s sentencing marks a significant blow to the methamphetamine trade in Missouri, and authorities are hailing it as a major victory in their fight against drug trafficking.
