Child Pornography Sentence Handed Down in Council Bluffs

A disturbing case of child pornography has come to an end in Council Bluffs, Iowa, as 34-year-old Brian Allen Christensen has been sentenced to 120 months in prison for his offense.

On February 14, 2022, Christensen was handed his sentence, which will be followed by five years of supervised release. This comes after a guilty verdict was delivered by a trial jury on September 21, 2021.

The investigation into Christensen’s activities began in 2018, when the Nebraska State Patrol conducted an undercover operation. The operation identified a computer in Council Bluffs that shared images and videos using the Peer-2-Peer program.

The Iowa Internet Crimes against Children took over the investigation and found evidence that Christensen had regularly searched for child pornography as early as February 2013. This disturbing trend of online child exploitation continues to plague our communities, and it is crucial that those responsible are held accountable.

United States Attorney Richard D. Westphal of the Southern District of Iowa made the announcement. The Nebraska State Patrol, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, Internet Crimes Against Children section, all played a crucial role in the investigation and prosecution of this case.

This case was prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Offices for the Southern District of Iowa.
