BRIDGEPORT, CT — Joshua Gilbert, a 24-year-old gang member known as ‘Lor Heavy,’ was today sentenced by U.S. District Judge Kari A. Dooley to 480 months of imprisonment and three years of supervised release for his involvement in the Original North End (‘O.N.E.’) street gang.
The announcement came from United States Attorney David X. Sullivan, State’s Attorney Joseph T. Corradino, Bridgeport Police Chief Roderick Porter, and federal law enforcement agencies involved in the investigation.
According to court documents, Gilbert was a key figure in O.N.E., which operated out of the Trumbull Gardens area and engaged in acts of violence against other local gangs, including drug trafficking, robberies, and car thefts. They used social media platforms to promote their activities and coordinate criminal endeavors.
In 2019, O.N.E. members stole a Lexus Rx350 from New York, leading to multiple shots-fired incidents in Bridgeport, including the tragic shooting of Ty’Quess Moore. Gilbert was also involved in a fatal shooting at the P.T. Barnum Housing Complex.
The gang’s activities were halted when Gilbert was arrested on July 19, 2021, and he was found guilty of racketeering conspiracy on November 21, 2023. His sentence reflects the severity of his crimes and the extensive investigation by multiple law enforcement agencies.
This case is part of the Justice Department’s Project Safe Neighborhoods, Project Longevity, and Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces programs, demonstrating the commitment to combating gang violence in Bridgeport and beyond.
