Johnstown PA – Methamphetamine Conspiracy
A resident of Clearfield, PA has been brought to justice for violating federal narcotics laws. Brittany Luzier, age 29, pleaded guilty to Count Two of the Superseding Indictment before Senior United States District Judge Kim R. Gibson.
In connection with the guilty plea, Luzier did conspire to distribute 5 grams or more of actual methamphetamine from July 2019 to June 2020. This is a serious offense with severe consequences for the community.
The law provides for a minimum sentence of 5 years in prison and a maximum of 40 years in prison, a fine of up to $5,000,000 or both. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed would be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.
Assistant United States Attorney Maureen Sheehan-Balchon is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government. The investigation was a collaborative effort involving several agencies, including the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Pennsylvania State Police.
This prosecution is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) investigation. OCDETF identifies, disrupts, and dismantles the highest-level drug traffickers, money launderers, gangs, and transnational criminal organizations that threaten the United States by using a prosecutor-led, intelligence-driven, multi-agency approach that leverages the strengths of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies against criminal networks.
Brittany Luzier is scheduled to be sentenced on January 18, 2024. The community can rest assured that those who commit serious crimes will be held accountable.
