Ricardo Ferguson, Aqueduct Park Murder, New York 2021

GRIMY TIMES EXCLUSIVE: Ricardo Ferguson, the Bronx gangster a/k/a ‘Maybach,’ has been found guilty of the December 2021 murder of Robert Brown, Sr., inside the Aqueduct Park walkway. The shooting occurred amidst a fierce drug dealing dispute. Ferguson’s conviction comes after a six-day trial before U.S. District Judge Richard M. Berman.

Ferguson, aged 38, was charged with conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine, attempted Hobbs Act robbery, murder through the use of a firearm, and using and carrying a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking. The defendant will face life imprisonment for his crimes, with sentencing scheduled for October 9, 2024.

United States Attorney Damian Williams emphasized the severity of the crime, stating, “Ricardo Ferguson’s actions turned a public park into a scene of terror. Today’s conviction is a powerful reminder that violent drug dealers will face justice.”

The investigation was a collaborative effort between the New York City Police Department and the Special Investigations Division of the Southern District of New York. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Dominic Gentile, Jun Xiang, Mathew Andrews, and Peter Davis led the prosecution.

Mr. Williams commended the hard work of law enforcement, stating, “The dedication of our investigators and officers has once again proven that violent crime in our community will not be tolerated.”

The case is currently being handled by the Office’s Violent and Organized Crime Unit.
